Love is in the air………

Happy Thursday morning Everyone.. and Happy Ground Hog Day! I had to chuckle this morning….I was in the car on the way home from my early swim when the radio announcer mentioned that today is Ground Hog Day in America (I live in Germany, so you can imagine my surprise). Here I am living in Germany and it takes a German radio announcer to remind me that today is Ground Hog Day!!! Since there is 6 hour time difference, I will have to wait a few hours to see what the ground hog will tell us. I am seriously hoping that winter is on its way out…. I am done with it!  As I am sure all of you are too!

Now, many of you know, that I am not the big Valentine’s Day Fan…..too much sapiness for me, but I do love setting a Valentine’s Day Tablescape!

This little guy was a gift from Marajean…she was my mom’s best friend
and loved my sisters and I as if we were her own children.

Valentine’s Day is coming…….

It has been a long time since I have had a post for “Pink Saturday“…..lately it has been hard for me to find enough pink to share (I do, after all live in a household with only men…hey, even the cat is a male!)

This evening though, I set one of my first Valentine’s Day Tables and I do believe that it would be fitting to share one of the many pictures with you all today and this way celebrate my return to Pink Saturday.

Ringing in a golden year

Happy Friday Everyone,

todays tablescape was one I threw together for New Year’s Eve…..

Even though we did not have a large celebration, I just could not resist creating just one more gold table. My favorite part of my holiday tables are all the bulbs I can use…..I do believe I have just about every color there is!

Happy Weekend Everyone

Shades of Green

Color of the Year 2017 is PANTONE…..a pretty shade of green!!

You betcha…this inspired me to create a tablescape with green being the primary color! How lucky am I, that I just happen to have a beautiful green tablecloth and of course my lovely green dishes.

Green Tablescape log centerpiece See the birch logs? My husband and I went out in the 10 minute snow storm to find those!!  Not really sure why I couldn’t wait…but once I get an idea in my head,
I tend not to be able to wait! 😁Green Tablescape butter knife with plateFor this tablescape, I decided to set out butter/roll plates with a small knife.
The plate is actually the saucer for the soup bowl, but I think it works
just fine as a butter/roll plate !Green Tablescape candlelight glowGreen Tablescape top view

Let it Snow…Let it Snow

It is snowing in Kleinmachnow…..yes we are finally getting some snow. Now for my fellow germans, we got a lot of snow, but for this Illinois Girl it was a nice start…but by far not enough!!!!!

On days like this, I tend to sit at my desk and surf the web…….Facebook, PeopleMag, Yahoo News and of course Pinterest! Everytime I open Pinterest, I find so many ideas that I want to try out……just not enough time in a day. Recently I stumbled on Arhaus.com…..wow what cool a site. Seeing as tablescapes are my thing, I of course checked out their dining room tables and dishes and stemware.. all the fun stuff!

But for now, grab that cup of coffee and enjoy my snowy tablescape!

Once again….cricut explore to the rescue……Love my light blue snow flakes

Tablescaping has truly become a passion of mine. This year I hoping to publish my first book of tablescapes. Since I live in Germany, the book will be written in german by a friend of mine.

This past week I tackeled the task of putting away all the Christmas Decorations….WOW, what a job and I think, no I know, my Christmas Decoration Collection has expanded has I had to go to Ikea to get more storage boxes(DARN!!!!) Now that the holidays are over I am trying out some new ideas for winter tablescapes.

 Here is the first one…….

Thank you Mr. Ikea…..the votives are perfect for this table design
The blue dishes are from my mother in law…I think they go quite well with this design

Ah, my two fellows. They were my splurge for the Christmas Season 2016. Although they were bought for Christmas, I feel they work in this table setting as well.

love his eyes

I took my pine cones and pimped them with a little silver spray

Wishing you all a happy Sunday Evening….be sure to stop by later this week for my second winter setting.

Christmas Tablescape……Take 2

Christmas Tablescape……Take 2

The Christmas 2016 Season maybe over, but I still have some tablescapes to share with you. This one was co-created with my son Mike. He is our up and coming cinematographer and has a great eye for color. This whole tablescape began with a Santa Hat as the centerpiece… my son suggested some black bulbs and well to make a long story short….my santa table turned into a Mickey Mouse Table! And may I say we all were truly happy with the outcome.

Mickey Mouse….the star of this tablescape. Mickey was a gift from my girlfriend Kirstina who lives in Florida.
I live in Germany, so finding Mickey Mouse Confetti is not easy….but no worries I have a Cricut Cutting Machine.

Since this tablescape was for a Christmas Breakfast, I of course had to use my Christmas Egg Warmers……. I bought a set years ago at Butlers.

The Tablecloth came from Ikea…it is actually a bed sheet! Ikea has bed sheets in all colors and various sizes..a great and inexpensive tablecloth.
I really do love my set of white dishes. We got a the whole set as wedding gifts…27 years ago!

These little santas are a part of a set that my nieces and nephew made for me when they were little

Can you spot the hidden Mickey?

Wishing you all a happy week…..

Happy Holidays from Cook Bake Love……..

the christmas cards are written, the gifts are wrapped, the tree is trimmed and the cookies are baked. Time to get creative with my Christmas Holiday Tablescapes 2016.

Last year in December I was in Illinois and of course a trip to HOme Goods was on my schedule. I found a Christmas Tablecloth with matching napkins that I just had to have!

Yes…the laterns and most of the Christmas Bulbs come from IKEA!
The red stemware comes from STrauss INovations and from Ebay Classifieds

The Table runner……simply red wrapping paper and red “gauze” like material

My dinner dishes……the pride and joy of my table….shout out to my niece and nephew for this gift

Now we are just waiting for the guests to arrive.

Happy Holidays Everyone.
