Have you ever had that…. CALGON TAKE ME AWAY….. feeling? Once again, I found myself in this situation recently and decided to pull the plug on social media, blogging and Television. Lent was about to begin and so I decided on 6 Weeks…… to be free from all social media and televison till Easter. Well, that did not quite work out. Staying completely off of Facebook or Instagram just does not cut the pickle as we use both mediums as a way of communicating with friends and family throughout the world. I tried to just “check in” once a day, but if I am really honest, that really did not work either! Now when it comes to television, I have been quite good. I “cheated” once to watch the royal interview. (In hindsight, it was not worth it). Instead, I have been reading a lot and have for myself discovered the world of podcasts. The Blog Pause has not been that difficult as I find myself in a creative slump. I have shared a few pictures of our major bathroom remodel, but other than that…. silence. Time though to get busy… and so with today being Tablescape Thursday over at an Between Naps on the Porch I am happy to share with all of you a tablescape that I designed and put together recently. So, welcome back to Supper Table Talk…..
To save just a little bit of time and cash, I used silk flowers for this tablescape.
Now while I am die hard fan of real flowers, I think these silk flowers are very pretty and do the job quite nicely.
Many, many moons ago a girlfriend of mine was moving and gave me the material you see here.
For a long time I did not know what to create with it.
Finally I simply made a large tablecloth out of the material and even had enough to make matching napkins.
My favorite wine glasses…. thank you mom for gifting them to me
The silver napkin rings were a gift from my sister Heidi.
The gold chargers come from our favorite store Nanu Nana.
The white plates are from the House of Rosenthal.
The black napkins are from Straus Innovation.
Have a wonderful day and Happy Easter to all of you!

Nicki, this is beautiful! I love the wine glasses and your tablecloth is stunning! I love fresh flowers too, but it is often a challenge where I live as well. The silk flowers that you chose are so pretty and are perfect for that tablecloth. Just lovely. Happy Easter to you!

This is lovely Nicki! And what a wonderful location – it all looks so cozy and beautiful! Books and flowers are my very favorite. And I love your wine glasses! I have a small pitcher and bowl that look to be made of the exact same material and are cut the same way. 🙂 So glad I found your blog through Between Naps on the Porch! Happy Easter and good luck with the social media slow-down!
