Good Morning and happy Monday to everyone!
As most of my peeps know, I am a volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House Berlin Wedding. Hard to believe, but I am going into my 6th year! About 6,5 years ago, I had read a story about a little girl in California who was had been born with cancer. Her mom posted that they lived at the Ronald McDonald House near the Children´s Hospital in Los Angeles. The story inspired me to become a volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House Berlin Wedding. (For more on this story: https://www.facebook.com/lilly.bumpus.9/) Once a week and sometimes more, I am at the house for three to four hours to help wherever I am needed. We volunteers help with everything from cleaning apartments to cooking dinner on thursday evenings. My favorite time slot is Tuesday morning breakfast. My co-volunteer and I meet at 06:00 am to prepare the Breakfast Buffet for the Families. At 07:30 am the buffet is ready and the parents start coming into the kitchen.
This year, I am doing more than just making breakfast. I am a member of a team of 20 people who plan to take part in the XLETIX Hinderniss Lauf/Obstacle Run in October 2020. Our goal is to raise 10,000 Euros for the house.
Before I tackle the 12KM course and those many challenging obstacles, I am also taking part in another charity event. This event benefits all the houses in Germany. You see every year the Home Ride takes place. 500KM in 24 hours–all on a bike. Uptill now this was always a team event. Well, as we all know the Virus is changing all the rules in 2020 and so the HomeRide becomes the SoloCharityRide. Of course I signed up and my goal is to ride 1o0 KM on the 28th of June.

And this is where you, my fellow bloggers, followers, and friends come in to play. I would much appreciate it if you could donate a few euros to one or both of the charity events. Just click on the links above. Now I know the sites are in german, but it is pretty self explanitory what you need to do. I would be forever grateful. Please know the money you donate goes to a very good cause. The families that stay at a Ronald McDonald House, are so very grateful that they have a home away from home in what has to be the worst time of their lives. I am very lucky that my family is healthy and so being a volunteer is my way of paying it forward.
