Today I would like to share with all of you “Christmas Crates….by Putzi,” who just happens to be my older sister. Many years ago she started this tradition and I feel it the time is arrived that we go public with this idea. In Germany you can buy mandarin oranges in nice, cute crates. Most people trash them when all the mandarins are eaten…my sister(and her daughters and I) well we tend not to be able to throw anything away and also always seem to find an “upcycling” idea! My sister takes the plain crates and every year creates a design for the boxes. She paints or uses stamps to create her boxes. I find myself saying WOW, what a great idea, but this year……..she out did herself. She took a napkin and recreated it by drawing the same design on the crates. Now, she will not like this, but I am going to clue in on why this is so over the top special. You see my sister has Parkinsons……but man she is a fighter. Of course, I am sure she has her share of down days, but nothing gets in her way of celebrating Christmas or taking care of her grandchildren, or creating these special christmas crates for friends and family.
Crates are painted……..just waiting to be filled with lots of goodies.
One of the main ingredients..homemade and baked with love Mini Stollen.
THe matching napkins are place in the crate….
And the finshed crate…filled with homemade treats. By the way, she hand delivers all these crates…
I hope we could inspire you just a bit today. We hope we have inspired you today. SHould you be interested in these crates, please contact us. We are in the process of making this a business and would love you to be our first client. These crates would make a great gift for co-workers, employess, special clients. friends, and family members.
Happy Saturday Everyone!
