This “New Recipe Sunday” is being brought to you from the comforts of my living room couch! Yes, this evening I have decided that the house work will just have to wait….time to relax and watch a doris day movie and of course share with all of you a new recipe I tried out this week.
On Saturday friends of ours came over and together the four us cooked a chinese feast. Today I will share with the first recipe…..
Ingredients:
1 1/2 pounds chicken wings
1 tablespoon peanut oil(we used walnut oil)
1 tablespoon coarsley chopped and peeled fresh ginger
1 tablespoon coarsely chopped garlic
1/2 tsp salt
2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
1 tablespoon rice wine or dry sherry
3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
2 tsp sugar
2 tsp chili bean paste
2/3 cup water
Directions:
Cut the wings in half a the joint. Heat the wok, then add the oil, ginger, garlic, and salt. Stir fry the mixture for 10 seconds, then add the rest of the ingredients(NOT the Wings). Simmer for about one minute. Put in the wings and cover the wok. Cook till the wings are done. The recipe said about 15 minutes…ours needed about 30 minutes. erve at once or cool and serve at room temp.
The wings were a hit! Remember to save some for the next day. The chicken wings were even better the next day.
Happy Sunday Everyone! See you all next week
